Do you dig Paul McCartney? VR music? This news story is for you. Paul McCartney will bring fans uncomfortably close to him in the only way that doesn't result in a takedown by a personal security detail and a restraining order: virtual reality.

He's releasing a six-art series of VR experiences created to support the June 10th release of "Pure McCartney" not as it first appears to be, an unfortunate misspelling of his first name, but actually a retrospective album taking a look at the music of his career after the dissolution of the Beatles.

McCartney is collaborating with VR producer-publisher Jaunt to create 6 segments that'll explore a handful of songs on the new album in a 360-degree video format. The first two segments are launching today, we'll get another on May 31, June 7t, June 10th and June 14th.

These are filmed in McCartney's private home studio and it promises fans the ability to "embark on a personal journey" with the ex-Beatle as he recounts memories and anecdotes from a lifetime in music.

The VR segments will supposedly blend high-resolution video content with digitally remastered sound and you'll be able to check it out on the Jaunt VR app which you can get on… pretty much all of the VR headsets.

Okay, I'll list them. For the SEO, you understand. iOS, Android, Gear VR, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Desktop 360 formats.
Of lands and mansions, theirs in thought assigned;

Like your mobile games meta with a side of avant-garde, ergodic lit?

Ice-Bound has what you need.

Calling itself "a novel of reconfiguration," Ice-Bound is an upcoming interactive fiction that reimagines what it truly means to "interact" with a text-driven game.

Breaking away from the focus on branching narratives, the developers aim to create a "dynamic, evolving" story that more deeply experiments with the intersections of prose, visual art, and game design.

What immediately sets Ice-Bound apart is its use of augmented reality. The game requires both an iPad or webcam-enabled PC and the game's physical art book.

The importance of both the digital and physical parts of Ice-Bound manifest in their direct interaction with each other.

Through the lens of your device's camera, you'll be able to watch the physical art book change and morph in accordance with the game's story.

Inspired by the "dense, nested fictions" of Jorge Luis Borges and Italo Calvino, the actual narrative of Ice-Bound follows the story of a dead author, and the post-mortem AI simulation designed to complete his unfinished novel.

Speaking of his literary inspirations, co-creator Aaron Reed explains, "We wanted to bring that sense of exploring a literary labyrinth to an indie game."

Ice-Bound is designed by Down to the Wire, composed of Reed, creator of Blue Lacuna (rated among the top 10 text adventures ever on the IFDB), and Aeon Award-winning writer Jacob Garbe.

They are looking to raise $9,500 on Kickstarter for Ice-Bound, to cover the costs of professional printing for the physical, 80-page full color art book.

Only the book - required for the full game experience - costs money, as the app itself will be free.

While the developers are planning for iPad 2+ and Windows PC releases for sure, they are also interested in Android and Mac ports later down the line.

Expect Ice-Bound to launch sometime in 2015. The first three chapters of the game (out of eight) will be playable at IndieCade later this week.
Heard where his plants in others' orchards grew;

Diving into the sun doesn't sound like a fantastic way to go, but neither does floating around in the abyss of space forever and ever.

Donning the tagline, "No one dies... alone," Sunburn is a game about making sure your doomed space mission at least ends in good company.

Using physics-based puzzles, you'll fling yourself around asteroids and comets, tethering yourself to every last fellow astronaut before flying - together - into the sun.

It's a much darker goal than the cute graphics let on, but if you can get around that, Sunburn looks like a fun and even humorous puzzler.

Expect Sunburn on the App Store on November 20th for £1.99 / $2.99.
